I met the real Blue Nude model that Picasso used during my stay with the Catholic nuns in Syria. While she was advanced in age by the time I met her, she was beautiful beyond words, except for that hideous wart on her nose.
Your Blue Nude is even more impressive.
I can't wait to admire it again.

Do you now enjoy French citizenship due to your stint in the French foreign legion? If so, are you now addressing the public by your new French identity provided for your years of service or your former American identity?

Ray, I don't know if you remember me...we met about 15 years ago in Key West. It is not surprising you are doing so well as you were not one to mess with back in the day. Remember the time at the beach when you were running dressed in a white physician's jacket, an unlit cigar in your mouth and a group of residents trailing. I'll never forget the look on their faces when you abruptly turned and recited JFK's famous speech about the Peace Corp. We were all so inspired. Do call me when you get a chance, I'm at the same # but realize you are quite busy. Hopefully our paths will cross again soon. Whenever I see or hear someone snap their fingers I think of you. Remember that night?

snap your fingers; Ray, I'm not sure who Boros is but if you did for him and his friends what you did for me with your mind over matter approach to solving lifes problems I truly feel you have a cult like following out here. Your trademark move was to have others, spellbound, like Barack Obama did on Tuesday, only to then have a growing crowd see you step away, pause, snap your fingers, and then vanish into the night. I now understand your military background and dealings in the Amazon, allowed you to be so skilled. I admire you as always and would also like a piece or two of your clothing as a remembrance.

Long time, no controlled violence! Hope you are well comrade! I didn't veer so far from the mercenary trail as to join PACs and speak at conventions.. but I am a teacher now! (3rd Grade Civics, and Phys. Ed. in Djibouti, Africa)
Can NOT wait for the book. Will shoot you a note (non-encrypted of course, as I doubt you still have the key - I do though).

As a writer and critic for the New Yorker for the past 19 years, I have to congratulate Rum for his depth, critical eye, emotion and passion that is so obviously seen in his work. His work reminds me of the time and I spent with El Lissitzky back in the days. Very fresh Rum, very fresh.

Ray; I'm sitting here with my four children reviewing my website My 14 year old daughter said she wants to meet you. I explained that when when she was about 18 months you stayed with us after a trip abroad. She is in disbelief that she was in your presence and she wants you to come visit us in Lake Bluff. After your GQ work is published in December do you think you can visit us?
