Thanks to everyone for the comments and questions posted to Ray Rum Art today.
A special thanks to GoDaddy for the hosting support . We had close to 100,000 hits today with no downtime. I received a flood of questions and will use tonight's blog to try to answer some that were the most popular by category ( over 100 similar questions for each of these themes
1. I had heard that you were approached to be the figure and were the inspiration for the new Dos Equis advertising campaign as the "Most Interesting Man in the World" true and if so why did you turn it down?
Answer: Yes I was in fact approached and I have heard it was largely based on my life thus far. I turned it down because I only drink vintage red wine from a small region in Northern France . I highly recommend the Chateau Latour vintage 1970. It is a great vintage from a wonderful year.
2. You are obviously very fit and have lead a rigorous , exciting and profitable life , do you have any diet tips that can help the average people out there.
Answer: There are no average people, just those with "average" expectations. I believe in bio indigenous diet. So for example , when I am in my Arizona studio , my diet consists primarily of Javelina meat.
Before you ask.. yes I hunt and kill these fine mammals myself.
I harvest the game from my vast estate here in Arizona and I usually prefer the Javalinas that are between 200 and 250 pounds. I capture the beasts myself by hand ( CAUTION ! ! do not try this unless you have excellent hand to hand combat skills, these creatures have razor sharp teeth.)
Once captured , I carry the Javelina to my pool ( negative edge of course) and drown them. I find this the most humane way to kill an animal in the wild ( and fair). If you think about it , it is really just the opposite of fishing.
3. Your book preview is fascinating and other than the sales and obvious recognition for this great work coming your way , do have any other news on the book you can share with the general public.
Answer: Thanks for all the great comments on the upcoming book " Paint is Thicker than the Bloods- How I saved Inter City Lives through my Art " by Ray Rum. Well, this much I can share with everyone..It looks as though the book will be optioned as a screen play and will become the next big vehicle for Ashton Kutcher in early 2010. The first draft of the screen play has actually beefed up the role of Lydia Marie to allow for the long awaited on screen pairing of Whoopi Goldberg with Ashton Kutcher. That is all I can disclose at this time.
